What you need to know

  • Note: Current Trellis Society clients are automatically eligible.

    In order to be eligible for the CVITP, individuals must have a modest income and a simple tax situation.

    This may include include:

    • adults 65 years and older

    • housing-insecure individuals

    • Indigenous Peoples

    • modest-income individuals

    • newcomers

    • persons with disabilities

    • students

  • A modest income means the total family income is less than the indicated amount below, based on the size of the family.

    Family size: 1 person Total family income: $40,000

    Family size: 2 people Total family income: $55,000

    Family size: 3 people Total family income: $60,000

    Family size: 4 people Total family income: $65,000

    Family size: 5 people Total family income: $70,000

    Family size: More than 5 people Total family income: $70,000 + $5,000 per additional person

    Family size includes an individual, or a couple, and their dependants.

  • SOURCES OF INCOME (Include all that apply):

    • Employment Income (T4)

    • Old Age Security (T4A) OAS

    • Pension Income T4A (P)

    • RRIF Income (T4RIF)

    • RSP Income (T4A-RSP)

    • Employment Insurance (T4E)

    • Investment Income (T5) (T3)

    • Alberta Seniors Benefit (T5007)

    • Income Support/Social Assistance (T5007)

    • Workers Compensation Benefit (T5007)

    DEDUCTIBLE EXPENSES

    • Receipts for RRSP contributions

    • Receipts for donations to registered Canadian Charitable Organizations

    • Receipts for Medical Expenses

    • Receipts for Installment payments of tax

    • Indication of Medical Disability and CRA’s previous acceptance of Disability Claim.

    • Childcare expenses paid

    • Tuition/Education/Student Loans (T2202)

    - If you are a dependent who attended a post-secondary institution (eg. University, or College) during the year (T2202)

    - attach a T2202 which details the institution name, number of months attended in 2022 and Tuition fee amount.

    . If you are 19yrs old and over then you will be eligible for gst/hst credit! (amount depends on size of family)
